Nana Addo Does Not Need Thugs To Win 2020 Polls – Collins Owusu Amankwah

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Manhyia North, Hon Collins Owusu Amankwah has rubbished claims that the ruling government was training party assigns to disrupt the upcoming general elections in 2020.

According to the legislator, the ruling party and its leader, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo does not need thugs and the deployment of mayhem to win the 2020 polls.

Speaking to Accra based Kingdom FM 107.7 last Wednesday, the Manhyia North MP parried off claims by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) that the NPP was training party assigns at Asutuare, a known military training camp to disrupt the 2020 general elections.

He insisted that the NPP would win the 2020 polls not on anything but upon the track record it has and the projects it has undertaken since 2017 when it assumed the reins of power.

‘’It is laughable to hear the leader of the NDC, John Mahama and some senior members of the party claim that the NPP as a party in government was training thugs to enable it retain power at the 2020 polls’’, Hon Amankwah posited.

EVIDENCE:

Hon Amankwah challenged the NDC to back its claims and allegations with something concrete if they are so minded.

He stressed that the old tactic employed by the NDC where they throw wild allegations about was dead and gone.

The ruling NPP, the youthful legislator who doubles as the Chairman for the Parliamentary Select Committee on Government Assurances said was focused on delivering on its mandate to the good people of Ghana.

He noted that every single promise the party promised is being implemented by the Nana Addo government, adding the party has no time to train thugs or whatever the NDC thinks about.

‘’Our focus is to deliver on our mandate as ruling government and this is what gets us to work every morning because we respect the good people of Ghana and thus committed to fulfilling all promises we made to them before the 2016 election’’, Hon Amankwah stressed.

MESSAGE:

Unlike the NDC, the Manhyia North MP said the NPP has a clear message to the Ghanaian people and is determined to keeping faith with the people.

The NPP, the MP intimated still holds on to providing jobs for the youth as well as opening up the Ghanaian economy to ensure businesses thrive.

Hon Amankwah said the Nation Builders Corps (NABCO), the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) modules and others are avenues that are helping recruit more youth into the job market.

The free Senior High School policy, the one district one factory as well as many other initiatives are some of the messages the NPP will be pointing to the Ghanaian public to remind them of what they have done.

‘’We are so much committed to expanding job opportunities for the youth as well as open up the economy for businesses to invest and thrive. These things concern us and not the deployment of thugs to win elections because the 2020 elections is a done deal for Nana Addo’’, Hon Amakwah stated.
