It will be easier for a donkey to enter the eye of a needle than for Mahama to become Ghana’s Prez again’ – Obiri Boahen

The Deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Obiri Boahen has said that the 2020 flagbearer of the main opposition party, National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Mahama stands no chance of becoming the President of Ghana again.

According to him, the former President is not destined to be the leader of this country again hence his insistence that John Mahama stops campaigning.

“It will be easier for the donkey to enter the eye of a needle than for John Mahama to become President of Ghana once again, take this from me, he stands no chance of becoming the country’s leader…,” he said on Accra-based Okay FM.

The former President since his election as the 2020 flagbearer of the NDC has been crisscrossing the country gathering support for his bid.

He is currently in the Volta Region where he has been explaining his views and policies to residents and calling for their support so he can unseat the sitting President, Nana Akufo-Addo.

His party members, has also been doing a lot in their bid to ensure that the Akufo-Addo government becomes unpopular in the eyes of Ghanaians.

The party’s Director of Communications, Sammy Gyamfi held a press conference chronicling the number of cronies and family members of the President who are in various governmental positions.

Sammy Gyamfi demanded the passage of a law against nepotism arguing further that the Akufo-Addo government is the most nepotistic one in Ghana’s history.

But Lawyer Obiri Boahen was of the view that the views of Sammy Gyamfi is a non-starter as according to him, the list Sammy Gyamfi read out at the press conference was full of untruths.

He said the persons named at the press conference are all people who have excelled in their private lives and worked for the NPP party before the NPP won power in 2016.

Nana Obiri Boahen added that the NDC will not win power in 2020 if this is the only message the NDC has for voters.
