Arrested four Akuapim chiefs pay GH¢48,576 fine

The four chiefs of Akuapim Akropong who were fined GH¢48,576 for flouting the law on public gatherings have paid the fine to the court.

The chiefs were arranged before the Akropong Circuit Court on Wednesday, May, 6, 2020 for breaching the social gathering rules and installing a chief.

Each of the chiefs was fined 1,000 penalty units after they pleaded guilty to the charges that were leveled against them at the court presided over by Her Lordship Arit Nsemo.

The chiefs who were named as Odehye Kofi Asiedu Adu-Mfum (57), Nana Semeshia Ohene Asah Krofah II (43), Ohene Nana Bennet Smith Opoku (55) and Nana Odi Asempa Krobea Asante (76).

They were arrested and arraigned before the court for installing the Akuapimhene, Odehye Kwadwo Kesse.
