Mahama’s ambulance were used to store cow meat, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party has said.
The NPP took a swipe at former President John Mahama noting that the ambulances he purchased were used to store cow meat.
According to Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, the ambulances he purchased were not fit for medical purposes but rather, cold store business.
The NPP Chairman also known as Chairman Wontumi stated on Wontumi TV and Radio that “Mahama’s ambulance were used to store cow meat and not fit for transporting persons who were ill. When he brought them to Ghana, the medical workers rejected it.
My able Secretary in Ashanti Region who is also a board member at the abattoir, Sam Pyne, would tell you the ambulances John Mahama purchased can only improve their business and not that of a sick person”.
Mahama’s Gov’t Procures Wrong Ambulances
The administration of former President Mahama is on record to have procured ambulances without any consideration for the medical needs and emergency needs of the Ghana Ambulance Service.
It also erred by procuring the vehicles without the involvement of any key stakeholders.
The estimated cost of the 56 ambulances stands at about 5.5m dollars.
