COVID-19: Education Minister, Napo, detained at UGMC

The Minister of Education, Matthew Opoku Prempeh has been detained at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) after showing signs of contracting Coronavirus (COVID-19).

A release signed by the Press Secretary to the Minister, Rodney Nkrumah Boateng said the Minister had initially tested negative for the disease.

This result, he said informed the Minister’s decision to travel to his constituency over the weekend for the NPP’s Parliamentary Primaries.

“Following his return to Accra, he felt unwell and decided to check himself in for further tests including a second check for the COVID-19…,” he said.
