The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi-Boasiako has stated that former President Mahama’s only legacy is dumsor which collapsed a chunk of businesses in the country.
He said although the advent of President Akufo-Addo has solved dumsor and revived businesses, the scar left by Mahama’s dumsor are so fresh that Ghanaians will never forgive him.
“Mahama only came to destroy what the nation has toiled for.He brought dumsor and collapsed businesses.Mahama can only be remembered with dumsor and nothing else,he told Oheneba Nana Asiedu on Wontumi Morning Show on Wontumi Radio and TV in Kumasi.
Chairman Wontumi recalled that at the time President Mahama left office, the only intervention he made towards addressing dumsor was the expensive emergency power plants he brought which led to unwanted excess capacity and heavy financial burden to the state.
“Contrary to Mahama’s claim, the deployment of emergency power did not provide the solutions we much needed,”he emphasized.
Chairman Wontumi fumed that the economy Mahama superintended between 2012 and 2016 was so fragile that he couldn’t even mitigate and cushion people from an internally created problem like dumsor.
“You see the incompetence of Mahama we always talk about.Why should Ghanaians bring back such a person whose only interest is to destroy the economy,” he asked.
