The 2009 Ghana Premier League top scorer and former Ashanti Gold and Kotoko player, Alex Asamoah has bemoaned the inability of current strikers to bag goals for their respective clubs in recent times.
According to him, playing football on the field involves a lot communication and he has observed that these strikers lack such communication skills.
He asserted this after Ashanti Gold’s slim win against MO Bejaia in the CAF Champion League which put the Club on threat of elimination in the second leg of the Annual CAF Competition.
“During my era at the club, Emmanuel Osei Kuffour used to advise me a lot as a striker. He always told me to communicate with my co-players whenever we had possession,” he affirmed
He also expressed the need of strikers to position themselves and think fast before they approach a pass.
Alex Asamoah was the top scorer in 2009 Ghana Premier League with 17 goals and currently has penned down a year’s deal with premier league side BA United.
