Richard Asare Baffour, lawyer for former fetish priestess turned evangelist, Patricia Asiedua Asiamah (popularly known as Nana Agradaa), has dismissed claims that his client has not yet been transferred to the Nsawam Female Prison following her recent sentencing.
The clarification follows claims made by the Executive Director of the Crime Check Foundation, Ibrahim Oppong Kwarteng, who alleged that checks conducted by his organisation indicated Agradaa had yet to be moved to the facility, days after her sentencing.
In an interview on Wednesday, July 9, her lawyer, Richard Asare Baffour, firmly refuted the allegation, confirming that his client is indeed in custody at Nsawam.
“She is in Nsawam Prison, and as a matter of fact, I will be there in a couple of minutes, so the rumours going around that Agradaa is not at Nsawam are completely false,” he stated
Providing additional context, he explained that while Nana Agradaa was sentenced last Thursday, her transfer to prison followed the completion of necessary legal documentation.
“She was sentenced on Thursday and there were some documentation that had to be done, so immediately that documentation was completed, she was remitted to Nsawam Prison. As far as I am concerned, she is at Nsawam,” he confirmed.
Baffour also disclosed that all relevant legal processes have been completed, and their application for bail is currently before the court.
“All the processes are filed and I think the bail application will be ruled next week Tuesday,” he revealed.
