Ghana needs AI Investment to drive economic growth, not just education – Archbishop Boateng

Archbishop Dr. Kofi Adonteng Boateng, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Executive Senators International School (ESIS) in Kasoa Timber markert, has emphasized the importance of investing in modern education, particularly in Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Speaking at the ‘Dinner with the Stars’ event held at the school premises, Archbishop Boateng highlighted the need for Ghana to prioritize education to develop a skilled workforce for the future.

The CEO stressed that governments should not just focus on providing education but invest in modern technologies like AI to equip Ghana’s youth for the future. He cited examples of countries like Singapore, India, and Japan, which have invested heavily in education and technology to drive their economic growth.

Archbishop Boateng believes that with proper education and training, Ghana’s youth can become leaders and innovators, contributing to the country’s economic development and reducing the reliance on activities like galamsey.

He announced plans to introduce AI training for children at ESIS, starting from January, with experts from America brought in to facilitate the program.

While acknowledging the importance of government support, Dr. Boateng emphasized the need for private initiatives to drive educational innovation, especially in areas like AI.

The initiative by ESIS aims to equip Ghana’s youth with cutting-edge skills in AI, potentially positioning the country as a hub for technological innovation in West Africa.

By focusing on AI education, Archbishop Boateng hopes to inspire a new generation of leaders and innovators who can drive economic growth and development in Ghana.

Dr. Kofi Adonteng Boateng encouraged parents in Kasoa to consider Executive Senators International School for their children’s education.
