National Youth Organizer of the ruling New Patriotic Party Henry Nana Boakye Nana B has apologized to Multimedia Asempa FM and all Ghanaians for his attack on NDC National Communication Officer Sammy Gyamfi.
Sammy Gyamfi received a slap from Nana Boakye popularly known as Nana B at the studios of Asempa FM as MyNewsGh.com first reported. Elderly Member of Parliament for Manhyia North, Collins Owusu Amankwaa who has himself received “an internal slap” from his Regional Chairman was present and joined the scuffle.
Nana B has since apologized.
A statement copied to MyNewsGh.com by Nana B said even though he was unduly provoked by Sammy Gyamfi’s unwarranted attacks on the person of President Akufo-Addo and he himself, upon sober reflection, he believes he could have acted in a better manner.
“I wish to assure all that, I remain committed to decent, issue-based discourse on our airwaves and that this unfortunate incident will not be repeated.” He assured.
Sammy Gyamfi and Nana B were both student leaders at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology where they represented the interest of NDC and NPP respectively.
They both recently graduated as lawyers and were called to the Ghana Bar. They were eventually elected to lead various wings of their party, one in Communication, the other youth.
Their fight comes after NDC MP for Asawase Muntaka Mubarak and NPP MP for Assin Central Kennedy Agyapong fought each other on the floor of Parliament hurling insults. It also follows the beating of NDC MP for Prampram Sam George and Deputy National Youth Organizer of the NDC Edem Agbana during the by-election.
