Four Remanded Over Asiakwa Headmaster Murder

FOUR PERSONS who allegedly murdered the Headmaster of Salvation Army Junior High School at Asiakwa in the Abuakwa North Municipal of the Eastern Region, have been remanded into police custody by the Kyebi Magistrate Court.

The suspects are Mireku Emmanuel 17, Philip Okodie,17, Paul Boadu,18 and Richard Amaning, 18, alias Konko.

The deceased, George Somuah Bosompem, was also the Religious and Moral Education Teacher as well as Ghanaian language teacher for the school.

He is believed to have been beaten mercilessly on Saturday May 4, by the suspects who are said to be ‘week’ smokers.

The deceased is reported to have been attacked in his garden by the suspects.

According to DSP Ebenezer Tetteh, the Public Relations Officer of the Eastern Regional Police Command, four days before the attack, the deceased cautioned youth in the area to desist from smoking in the school.

DSP Ebenezer Tetteh noted that after the warning while on his way home with a lady friend, the suspects attacked them with sticks, stones, blocks, and other deadly weapons.

‘’By the time the residents rushed to the scene, the headmaster was badly beaten and left on the ground. The woman too was badly manhandled.”

The suspects are to reappear in court on May 14, 2019.
