Former President John Dramani Mahama says he is the reason why Ghana’s economy is considered as fast-growing in the world.

According to the NDC flag bearer, the Akufo-Addo administration is only reaping from his government’s “hard work”.

Addressing party folks in the UK, Mr. Mahama said the growth achievement which is being “trumpeted” by the Akufo-Addo government, came about as a result of his administration’s sterling performance in the office before the current government took over.

“…the fastest-growing economy. It cannot be by accident. Yes, it is not by accident because we worked just to make it happen,” the former president told the gathering.

A recent world bank report named Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire, Ethiopia and Rwanda as the fastest-growing economies in Africa.

The report indicated the four African countries are growing at 7%.

“Africa still hosts four of the fastest-growing economies in the world. Countries such as Ethiopia, Rwanda, Ghana, and Cote d’Ivoire are still growing above seven percent.

These countries are not only the growth champions on the continent but also among the fastest-growing economies in the world,” Chief Economist for Africa at the World Bank, Dr. Albert Zeufack noted.
