Akufo-Addo is a good man and deserves a second chance-Joris

President of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo

Ghanaian Playwright, Joris Wartenberg has also waded in the tongue-lashing of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) over the ‘economic mess’ he says they handed over to the Akufo-Addo-led government in 2016.

Calling on Ghanaians to keep Akufo-Addo in power in 2020, he announced that the President will be successful if given the chance to rule the country again.

According to him, “Nana Addo is a very good president, I think that he’ll be successful if given the room and the chance…but I think that the NDC left him a very bad economy that he needs time to put it together,” Creator of Osofo Dadzie play, Joris Wartenberg stated in an interview with Samuel Atta-Mensah on Citi TV’s Footprints show.

Likening the situation to the NPP’s predecessor, John Agyekum Kufuor, the former politician during the Acheampong era averred that “Kufuor spent the first four years getting the economy sorted out from the disaster of the Rawlings years” hence, Akufo-Addo’s government can equally thrive after fixing the ‘weak’ economy.

Meanwhile, President Akufo-Addo in November 2019 stressed that his government is committed to restoring the wobbly economy.

He assured Ghanaians of making sure the economy does not slip back into the economic mess that was bequeathed to him by the previous administration.

“My Government continues to demonstrate its commitment and determination to ensuring that the habits and sins of past managers of our public finances are no longer visited on this or future generations”, Akufo-Addo said at the 8th edition of Ghana Economic Forum held in Accra.
