One of the persons who have recovered from the Coronavirus (COVID-19) disease in Ghana, Fred Drah has called on Ghanaians to heed government’s protocols on the disease as according to him, the virus is real.
Speaking at the Information Minister’s media briefing on government’s handling of the disease, Mr Drah who believes he contracted COVID-19 from a South Korean business partner said he has been forced to come out to grant public interviews on the disease because of the seeming neglect of protocols on the disease put out by government.
“COVID-19 is real, so please heed government’s protocols on the disease, if you have nothing doing in town, don’t go out…,” he said.
Mr Drah who spoke in English, Twi, Ga and Ewe also called on Ghanaians to stop stigmatising persons who contract the disease or have recovered from the disease.
“After I started granted interviews, people have stopped selling to my family, my wife and kids go out and people are refusing to sell to them…,” he lamented.
He however commended health workers for taking good care of him and other COVID-19 patients.
“The Doctors and the Nurses did very well, I must say I am very grateful to them…I’ll score them 95%…,” he said.
