Kwahu Tafo Residents Defy Burial Order as Large Mourners Throng Cemetery

Some Residents of Kwahu Tafo in the Eastern Region on Saturday defied President Akufo-Addo’s directive on burial which allows private burial with mourners not more than 25.

Many mourners thronged the funeral grounds and cemetery of the late Okibri at Kwahu Tafo over the weekend. The deceased was said to be a popular figure.

The display of blatant disregard to President’s directive was worrying sight to behold sparking fear of coronavirus spread.

Though Kwahu East has not recorded a case yet, its neighboring Kwahu West has recorded two confirmed cases.

Sixty-six (66) new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in Ghana pushing the country’s case count to 6,683 from 6,617 as of the last update by the Ghana Health Service on Saturday.
