Suspected Thief Lynched While Tied To Electricity Pole in Mankessim

A young man believed to be in his late 20’s has been lynched at Sibase a suburb of Mankessim in the Mfantsiman Municipality of the Central Region.

The victim was found dead with multiple injuries while tied to an electricity pole in the community.

Bryt FM Central Regional News Correspondent, Eric Owusu Amponsah, in an interview with the Assembly Member for Twafo Akyinim Electoral Area, Godwin Mensah said he was informed about the incident Wednesday morning which he contacted the Police and the Environmental Health officers.

According to him, the deceased is unknown in the Community, therefore, suspects that he was lynched by a mob that conveyed the body and dumped in the community last night after suspecting him to be a thief.

The Assembly Member said the area is notorious for instant justice incidents hence advised residents in the environs to desist from the callous act.

Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has been conveyed and deposited at Mankessim government hospital mortuary by police pending investigations.
