NDC supporter killed, others hospitalized in accident at Ellembele

An accident at Azuleneno, a community located in the Ellembele Constituency of the Western region has claimed the life of one person on Sunday.

The deceased is a known supporter of the opposition National Democratic Congress in the Constituency, party officials confirmed to dailymailgh.com.

He was part of a campaign walk organized by the party in the constituency, MP for the area Emmanuel Armarh Kofi-Buah told the CNR.

Twenty-three others were injured during the incident which occurred at Azuleneno, a community located between Anyinase and Essiama.

Mr Kofi-Buah told the CNR that the incident happened just before 7 pm on Sunday adding that most of the persons injured were rushed to the Ekwe Catholic hospital.

The cause of the accident is yet to be explained by the police in the area.

This incident follows the death of seven members of the NDC within the Ejura Sekyeredumasi municipality of the Ashanti Region after a road crash over the weekend.

That crash occurred after the driver of the car attempted to swerve a rider who had driven into his path.

A similar incident also occurred at New Edubiase in the Ashanti Region where a bus carrying some NDC supporters got involved in an accident on Friday.

At least 20 people were left injured.
