Residents of Mim in the Asunafo North Municipality of the Ahafo Region are in state of shock after a strange coffin was found in a cemetery Wednesday morning.
According to reports, the brown coffin without a cover was found on two gravesites, and a substance believed to be powder in them.
Some residents believe the coffin was brought to the cemetery in the wee hours of Wednesday for suspected ritual purposes.
Kwaku Kwakye, a carpenter who designed the conffin said, fear gripped him upon realising one of his uniquely designed artifacts was discovered in such a state.
The coffin cover, he stated, was destroyed in his shop and the persons ripped apart the bedding before making way with just the wooden structure.
“I was informed that a casket has been found at the Mim cemetery so I quickly rushed to the place. Upon reaching there, I saw that it was one of what I have made. The lid was broken and left at my shop but the rest was found at the cemetery, and honestly, I have no clue of what this is all about”, he recounted
Mr Kwakye also indicated the substance in the coffin clearly gives out a human shape, making him confident the perpetrator slept in it.
“If the person is caught, he will have to explain to me the reason for doing such. Its either he stole it for rituals as a ‘sakawa person’ or purposely to hurt my business. I dare the culprit to come out else…”, he said.
