A burial service for the 13 teens who drowned in the Apam beach in the Central region is ongoing.
The service is being led by the Gomoa traditional Council.
It was reported that over 20 teens who went swimming on Sunday, March 7, 2021 were hit by a strong tidal wave which caused them to drown.
Local reports revealed that 13 bodies were retrieved on the following morning Monday, March 8.
The traditional council yesterday Monday, March 15 performed rites to pacify the sea gods over claims that the victims defied them and got them angry.
Later, ritual sacrifices were performed with a cow, three sheep,12 fowls, 33 tubers of yam and three cartons of schnapps to pacify the gods.
