NCA to shut down Rev Obofour’s TV stations; 47 others

The National Communication Authority (NCA) is set to shut down two Television Stations belonging to the founder and leader of the Anointed Palace Chapel (APC), Rev Kwaku Obofour.

The TV stations, Kiss TV and Cash TV which operate on Satellite channels, according to a statement from the NCA are part of a list of 49 stations operating without license.

“This forms part of a continuous monitoring exercise conducted on various satellite free-to-air television platforms using the Broadcast Monitoring System (BMS) and the Radio Spectrum Monitoring System (RSMS).”

According to the statement, the monitoring exercise revealed that some television channels in the country were operating without valid authorisations from the NCA.

“As a result, 49 channels have been identified to be operating without valid authorisations from the Authority and is being shut down accordingly,” the statement added.
