Another Takoradi woman in police custody for allegedly faking her kidnap and demanding GHC5,000 Ransom

Police in Takoradi has arrested three persons who staged a kidnapping incident and demanded GHC5,000 ransom from a family.

In the statement signed by the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Kwesi Ofori, the suspects’ names were given as Joana Krah, aged 29, Susana Awortwe, aged 27, and Francis Eshun, aged 27.

The statement further explained that Joana Krah conspired with the other two suspects to feign her kidnap and demanded the GHS5,000 ransom from her adopted father.

However, Joana Krah’s father reported the incident to the police and a search party was instituted.

“When Joana became aware that her adopted father had reported to the police and an extensive search had commenced to find her, she showed up at the Takoradi Central Police Station, Saturday, October 23, 2021, to confess of only joking with her adopted father that she was kidnapped,” the statement said.
