National Cathedral: It’s Akufo-Addo’s promise but still a national project — NPP Communicator

A communication team member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Allen Ama Daaku, has justified the national cathedral as public project.

She further asserted that though the national cathedral is President Akufo-Addo’s promise to God, as the name implies, it is still a national property and there is no cause for alarm when state money is being used to build it.

She made these assertions while speaking on Accra-based Metro TV’s “Good Morning Ghana” programme on June 20 monitored by Modernghana news.

Madam Daaku, who is also aspiring to be a national women’s organizer of the NPP, indicated that the free senior high school education, which was introduced by the current administration, was also the President’s personal pledge to Ghanaians. However, the program which is being implemented using state funds upon his assumption of office has benefitted Ghanaians.

For this reason, she said she does not see why a personal pledge that will become a national asset should not be financed with state funds.
