Mahama promises to revive movie industry after meeting Kumawood actors

Former President of Ghana and current flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has promised to revive the movie industry when he comes back to power.

He made the promise when he visited a group of Kumawood Actors on set as part of his tour of the Ashanti Region.

Mr Mahama encouraged the Actors and offered support to them for their contribution to the industry and also assured them of his unflinching support should he be given the nod again to govern the country in the 2024 elections.

Present on set when the Former President visited the Actors were Kwadwo Nkansah Lil Win who was shooting a new TV Series called “Mr President”.

Scenes from the series yet to be released shows Kwadwo Nkansah Lil win as a President who despises corruption and orders the disconnection of his ministers’ light for failing to pay their electricity bills.

Mr John Dramani Mahama acknowledged how joyful he always felt whenever he watched Kumawood movies.

He cited a movie in which Majid Michel and Lil Win were featured as his favorite.

He noted that his greatest aspiration during his tenure in government was to grow Ghana’s entertainment sector, however owing to his short term in office, this desire was not realized.

Jackson K. Bentum, producer of MR.PRESIDENT, in an interview with Atinka Media Village’s Entertainment writer, Evander Agyemang, confirmed Mr John Dramani Mahama made several promises of reviving the movie industry if re-elected.
