Ghanaian man who shot mom, brother in US identified

A 24-year-old Ghanaian man, identified as Caleb Boateng, has been named as the individual involved in a 13-hour standoff with police in Worcester, Massachusetts, last week.

According to local news website telegram.com, Boateng shot two people during the incident, who have now been identified as his mother and brother.

Prior to the police’s arrival, both victims managed to escape from the property and were subsequently taken to the hospital, where they remain admitted as of July 10.

Reports indicate that the injured individuals and the perpetrator are related, and the house where the incident occurred is registered under the name of Anthony Boateng.

Despite sustaining injuries to his shoulder from a gunshot and a dog bite while attempting to flee through the backdoor, the shooter is expected to be arraigned in court on Tuesday, July 11, while receiving treatment at the hospital.
