Nsawam Adoagyiri: Two persons shot dead following a chieftaincy dispute

Following a chieftaincy conflict at Nsawam Adoagyiri in the Eastern Region, two people were shot dead.

The two unidentified individuals were among four people who were shot and brought to the Nsawam government hospital on Tuesday after a renewed chieftaincy dispute in the area.

One person was shot last week after some kingmakers from the Abuakwa Traditional Council established a rival chief for Nsawam Adoagyiri under heavy police and military protection.

The process is set to have triggered a reaction from residents of Nsawam Adoagyiri who paid homage to Akyem Kotoku.

According to details, the shooting incident occurred during a float through the principal streets of Nsawam by the parallel chief, Chief Barima Adu Korkoor III, moments after he returned from the Ofori Panin Fie in Kyebi, where he swore an oath to Okyehene and the Abuakwa Traditional Council following his enstoolment last week.

The Police are currently investigating the matter.
