I’m committed to improving Free SHS; it has come to stay – Mahama

John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has reaffirmed his dedication to the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy and has pledged to enhance it if he is re-elected as president in the upcoming elections.

Having previously served as the President of Ghana from 2012 to 2017, Mahama recognizes the significance of the Free SHS policy in ensuring that all Ghanaians have access to equal educational opportunities.

“The Free SHS policy has come to stay, and I am committed to improving it,” he said while addressing journalists in Accra on Sunday.

He once again debunked claims of being against the policy and insisted that he supports and only wants the policy improved to deal with present challenges.

On the Free SHS Bill yet to be laid before Parliament, Mr Mahama said he would support it if it sought to improve and sustain the policy.
