Spokesperson for the Ashanti Heritage Platform (AHP) and former Member of Parliament for Manhyia North, Collins Owusu Amankwah has issued a strong plea to Ghanaians as the country heads into a crucial election this Saturday, December 7, 2024.
At a press conference in Kumasi on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, Mr. Owusu Amankwah cautioned Ghanaians against being swayed by monetary promises being offered by the opposition party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
He emphasised the importance of making informed decisions that would not jeopardise the future of the country’s youth, particularly with regard to the free Senior High School (SHS) program.
“I urge all Ghanaians to be cautious. The NDC is offering money, but we must not compromise the future of our children for a mere 1,000,” Mr. Owusu Amankwaa warned.
His remarks come amidst reports that the NDC is attempting to win voters by making financial promises, especially in the lead-up to the 2024 general elections.
The free SHS programme, introduced by the current government, has been hailed as one of the most transformative policies in recent years, significantly improving access to secondary education for thousands of students across the country.
