Peaceful Coexistence is Key – Kumawu MP to Religious Groups

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Kumawu Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Ernest Yaw Anim, has commended Muslims in the area for the peaceful manner in which they have co-existed with members of other religious groups and political parties over the years.

He has urged them to continue to live as one people with a common destiny in the years ahead.

Ernest Yaw Anim made these remarks when he joined Muslims in the constituency to celebrate this year’s Eid-ul-Fitr at Kumawu.

During the event, he pleaded with the Sekyere Kumawu Chief Imam, Abdul Rahim Nasirudeen Alhasan, to help resolve a lingering dispute between two factions at Oyoko to ensure lasting peace in the town.

As part of his support for the Muslim community, Ernest Yaw Anim donated, including 30 bags of rice, 10 boxes of cooking oil, 5 boxes of mackerel, and 3 cartons of Milo, along with a cash donation of GH¢10,000 to assist the faithful in observing the sacred month of Ramadan.

In response, the Sekyere Kumawu Chief Imam, Abdul Rahim Nasirudeen Alhasan, implored the MP to always remember that his tenure in office would eventually come to an end. He advised him not to focus solely on material wealth but to strive to leave behind a lasting and positive legacy.
