Former flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has intensified his campaign ahead of the party’s upcoming internal elections, urging delegates to choose a candidate who is prepared, formidable, and winnable for the 2028 national polls.
Dr. Bawumia wrapped up a three-day tour of the Ashanti Region on Friday, where he engaged Constituency Executives, the Regional Council of Elders, and other key stakeholders of the party.
Reflecting on the engagements, the former Vice President described the tour as insightful and productive, noting that it provided him with an opportunity to interact directly with party grassroots and leadership.
“I rounded off an insightful three days of engaging with our Constituency Executives, Regional Council of Elders and other stakeholders in the Ashanti Region on Friday as I seek the mandate of the Party for the 2028 elections,” he stated.
Dr. Bawumia reiterated his vision for the party and highlighted his track record of innovative thinking, problem-solving, and commitment to improving the lives of ordinary Ghanaians as compelling reasons delegates should retain him as the NPP’s candidate.
“While reaffirming my commitment to a united party, I called on all delegates to cast their votes on January 31, 2026, for the most Prepared, Formidable and Winnable candidate,” he declared.
