Celebrated Ghanaian actor William Addo, widely known as ‘Akpatse’, has passed away
Reports indicate that he died on November 22, 2025, after battling a prolonged illness.
William Addo rose to national prominence through his memorable roles on GTV’s Thursday Theatre and several other stage and screen productions. His distinct style and exceptional comic talent made him a beloved figure among audiences across the country.
A graduate of the University of Ghana’s School of Theatre Studies, Addo further advanced his craft by obtaining a master’s degree in acting and directing from the University of Leeds in the UK.
Until his passing, he remained one of the most influential and respected figures in Ghana’s theatre industry.
