Former Black Stars captain Fernabache midfielder Stephen Appiah has finally bid a farewell to his late mother yesterday, March 15, 2019.
The burial of the late Comfort Afua Amotey Aidoo came off after a burial ceremony at the John Wesley Methodist Church at Palladium in Accra on the morning of Friday, March 15.
Many of Stephen Appiah’s playing colleagues and other leading football stars were spotted at the grounds as they mourned with the former Fernabache midfielder.
Among the star-studded mourners were Black Stars coach, Kwasi Appiah, former defenders John Paintsil and Sam Johnson, and former striker Augustine Arhinful.
Apart from the football stars, other dignitaries including former president J.J. Rawlings and Youth and Sports Minister Iasacc Asiamah attended the funeral.
There was able representation from the entertainment industry as some actors including Prince David Osei, Oboy Salinko, Bismark the Joke, and radio presenter Amanda Jissih were also present.
The former Black Stars captain’s mother died on Saturday, December 22, 2018, just two days to his birthday.
