General Secretary of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketia has questioned the office of the EC.
According to him, Though he registered with NIA for the Ghana card, he has till date not received his card and wondering whether or not if Jean Mensa will disenfranchise him because of that.
However, EC has petitioned Parliament to legislate the Ghana Card and Passport as the only primary document for the voter registration exercise ahead of December election.
It is due to this notion that the NDC in opposition is rebuking indicating that, majority of Ghanaians will be disenfranchised if the EC uses only the Ghana card and passport as proof of identity to register eligible voters.
Meanwhile, the EC has refrained from the compilation of the new register due to the outbreak of the coronavirus are false.
