Two shot in ‘Western Togoland’ standoff with soldiers

Two shot in ‘Western Togoland’ standoff with soldiers. Some two locals have been shot by military men deployed to Juapong to restore calm to the area following an alleged road block by secessionist group Western Togoland. The bystanders, according to reports were caught up in gunfire between the armed group and the military. “The guy just said when they were shot, the military men took them and they don’t know whether they are being taken to the hospital,” the eyewitness on the ground told Starr News.

Calm has however been restored to the area, with vehicular traffic gradually getting back to normal.
