A mining pit has collapsed on six (6) small scale miners at Wassa Manso in the Western Region of Ghana Leaving four (4) dead after a mining expedition.
Speaking to Skyy Power Fm’s reporter Orlando at Wassa Manso, he indicated the surface of the pit was weak and soft due of some heavy rains during the week which caved in on the miners as they were digging their way through to the gold.
However, four (4) of the miners were not lucky enough when the dirt directly collapsed on them leaving the other two (2) who were later rescued by some town folks.
Also, he indicated there was more than six (6) miners in pit but most of them escaped when they had the information that the pit is collapsing.
Moreover, all the four (4) victims were male which two of them are locals of Wassa Manso and the other two came from Sekondi to mine.
