Information reaching us indicates that, a taxi driver in Tarkwa, has ran over two school children on their way to school on Friday, June 4, at about 7 am.
The children were reported to be students of Bright Benick Academy and Takwa UMAT Basic School, in the ages of 7 and 5 years.
According to reports, the taxi drivers in Tarkwa were preparing for a funeral of their colleague who was killed by armed robbers in the month of May, 2021.
As they were preparing for the funeral which is in Takoradi, they decided to display with their taxi vehicles in front of a drinking bar, called Eleven O6. As the display was ongoing, one of the taxi drivers who had his legs outside whiles driving his vehicle, struck and ran over the two school children who were on their way to school.
However, the taxi driver did not only run over the children, but drove into the 11 O6 drinking bar after he had struck the kids.
Reports indicate the kids were rushed to the New Government Hospital in Tarkwa and currently in a critical condition receiving treatment.
