Cecilia Koomson, a 66-year-old woman has died after a 2 storey building on the Asafo Street in Sekondi, a suburb of the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis went up in flames on Thursday afternoon, August 12, 2021.
According to reports, three rooms out of the twenty four rooms of the storey building had every item in it burnt to ashes and these items were three flat screen televisions, mattresses, electrical gadgets and many more.
However, Madam Cecilia was occupying one of the three rooms that completely got burnt and it was disclosed by her grandchild that, her door was locked in the process of the fire and after the Fire Service managed to quench the fire, they broke in and realized she was dead and deformed beyond recognition.
According to the Fire Service officer, upon realizing that Madam Cecilia was dead, they called the police to cart away the body to the morgue.
