Alpha patriots, a youth group affiliated with the New Patriotic Party has officially been launched in the western region, with an objective to ensuring the grass root of the party is organized to break the eight-year circle as has been preached by the top hierarchy of the party.
A patron of the group, Lawyer Nana Awuah indicated that about sixty-eight percent of the voting population in Ghana are youth, and as such targeting them during elections will inure to the benefit of the New Patriotic Party. He adds that the group is positioned to groom young people in the western region to take up leadership roles in the various institutions of the country.
According to him, the volunteer group is committed to making sure the New Patriotic Party stays in government in the next general election and for this reason, will be moving from one community to the other to preach the good works of the president to the masses.
A 2024 presidential candidate hopeful of the New Patriotic Party, Mr. Joe Ghartey was optimistic that the NPP will break the eight-year rule cycle in the 2024 election. According to the Esikadu Ketan legislature, the victory of the party largely relies on the members who will preach the good works of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo to the masses.
He added that the NDC cannot in any way compare themselves to the government of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo. In the Railways sector, for example, Mr. Joe Ghartey indicated that the achievement of the NPP is unmatched and it is up to the members of the Alpha Patriots to propagate the good message to Ghanaians through their campaigns.
“If we are all determined to work, we will win this election. There is no sector that we cannot engage in a debate with the NDC. They did fifteen kilometers of narrow gauge railway from Kojokrom to Takoradi in the western region. NPP came to power and signed a contract from Kojokrom to Eshiem and we have constructed the longest railway bridge in West Africa. We have moved to Huni-Valley and Tarkwa so the NDC cannot in any way compare themselves to us,” he noted.
Also present at the launch was the Member of Parliament for Kwesimistim, Dr. Prince Hamid Armah, Mr. John Aboah Sani who represents the people of Mpohor, Western Region captain of the Loyal Ladies Rhoda Eshun, and many other important personalities.
