I expect you to win CAF Champions League not just Ghana league – Otumfuo to Kotoko players

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has challenged the players of Asante Kotoko to ensure that they win the CAF Champions League next season.
As a result of their achievements, the Porcupine Warriors were named Africa’s best club of the century by the continent’s governing body.

Kotoko’s executive officer, Nana Yaw Amponsah, and his management, as well as the club’s playing body, were at the Manhyia Palace to deliver the 2021-22 Ghana Premier League trophy.

Otumfuo, speaking via his linguist, congratulated the club on winning the title and urged them to go much farther and win the CAF Champions League as winning the Ghana league is no news per the pedigree of the club, but African trophy has what it takes to bring back the pleasure to Kumasi as it was done in the past.

The Chief Executive Officer (Nana Yaw Amponsah) and the players were told, “I congratulate you on winning the league title, and now you are heading to Africa. I will urge you to win Africa because it has been a long time since I laid hands on the crown.”

“To thrive as a team, you must remain together,” he added.

On Saturday, June 18, at Accra Sports Stadium, Kotoko will play their final game of the season against the Accra Lions.

As a reminder, Kumasi Asante Kotoko who go by the moniker, The Porcupines, will represent Ghana in the CAF Champions League season of 2022/23, as announced.
