Gospel musician, Evangelist Diana Asamoah, has asked the New Patriotic Party (NPP) leadership to make her the running mate of any candidate who wins the party’s impending presidential primaries.
She stated that, while she has much to offer the party, the most important trump card she will bring is spreading the word of God to every household in Ghana.
On UTV on Saturday, February 25, the Mabo Wo Din crooner stated that she wants her efforts to remain loyal to the NPP rewarded by granting the above proposal.
After 15 years, the NPP will choose a fresh Presidential Candidate for next year’s voting.
So far, former Trade Minister Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, former Agric Minister Dr Afriyie Owusu Akoto, former Energy Minister Boakye Agyarko, former NPP General Secretary Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, former Mampong MP Francis Addai Nimoh and Dr Kofi Konadu Apraku have declared intention to contest the race.
Despite his silence, Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is expected to also join the race to succeed Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, who has led the party in the past four presidential elections.
The running mate will be selected after the 2023 presidential primaries.
