Flagbearer hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kennedy Agyapong will submit his nomination forms Wednesday, according to Ohemeng Ian Moore, a campaign team member.
He says the process will go smoothly, and they are confident in their chances.
Kennedy Agyapong has been a controversial figure in Ghanaian politics for years, with his parliamentary seat in Assin Central drawing significant attention due to his outspoken comments, actions, and support for the NPP. Despite this, he is widely regarded as a strong candidate for the NPP flagbearer position.
Other leading candidates for the position, including Dr Bawumia and Alan Kyeremateng, have already submitted their forms and are awaiting vetting in July.
Speaking on Oyerepa Breakfast Time, Ohemeng disclosed that, Kenedy Agyapong is the only candidate who can lead the NPP to break the eight-year cycle of alternating political parties in Ghana.
“Kennedy Ohene Agyapong will submit his nomination forms this coming Wednesday,” Ohemeng disclosed.
As per him, Kenedy Agyapong is the most competent candidate for the position therefore delegates must make it a responsibility to vote for him for victory in the impending 2024 general elections.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has set July 6, 2023, for the vetting of parliamentary and presidential candidates. The party after vetting all candidates is expected to hold presidential primaries on November 4, 2023.
