A Senior Lecturer at the University of Education Winneba, Dr. Isaac Brako has intimated the consequences surrounding Vice President Dr Bawumia’s presidential ambition.
According to him, the recent post by a Nigerian journalist, David Humdeyin that, some Islamic group is funding Bawumia’s campaign could thwart his hopes of becoming Ghana’s president.
A Nigerian investigative journalist a few days ago posted on Twitter that, Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia’s presidential bid is being funded by a lobby group in Northern Nigeria, the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF).
The Communications Directorate of the Office of Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia on the other hand has refuted those allegations stating that they are false and fabricated, created just to serve the propagandistic purposes of its promoters.
However, in an interview on Oyerepa Breakfast Time, hosted by Akua Asieduwaa, the lecturer, Dr Isaac Brako said, those claims could vehemently affect Dr Bawumia’s ambition.
According to him, the Vice president and his campaign team must not rest until the Islamic funding tag has been dealt with.
“Dr Bawumia must continuously rubbish those allegations. He must do everything possible to stop further claims, if not it could potentially hinder his presidential ambition.” Dr Isaac Brako stated.
