John Dramani Mahama, the presidential candidate of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), has urged Ghanaians not to give up hope.
According to him, in 2024, they will have the option to vote out this inept administration and replace it with fresh competent leadership.
The former president stated that the majority of Ghanaians are experiencing extreme hardship under the Akufo-Addo-led New Patriotic Party (NPP) government.
He bemoaned that the Ghanaian youth he had engaged with around the country had lost hope as a result of this administration’s failing leadership.
He delivered the remarks while speaking to the congregation of the Apostolic Continuation Church in Techiman, Bono East Region, on Sunday, November 19, 2023.
Mr. Mahama is currenly in the region for his “Building Ghana Tour”.
The tour seeks to engage with Ghanaians, revitalise the NDC, and prepare for the 2024 presidential campaign.
The ‘Building Ghana Tour’ will kick-start a transformative journey to connect with NDC supporters and fulfil promises made to branch executives.
Former President Mahama intends to meet and interact with people from various backgrounds, fostering hope and addressing concerns for a prosperous Ghana.
The tour is anticipated to strengthen the NDC’s campaign, presenting a unified vision for a prosperous Ghana grounded in inclusivity, economic growth, and social justice.
As part of the tour, he will make crucial stops in key cities, towns, and villages and engage local communities to listen to their concerns, insights, and aspirations for a prosperous Ghana.
Mr. Mahama also urged Ghanaians to give thanks to God at all times, irrespective of the challenge.
To Ghsnaians he said “Let us learn from our mistakes and vote wisely,” he said in Twi, adding, “I’m aware of what every Ghanaian is going through. The hardship is unbearable.”
