The New Patriotic Party (NPP), flagbearer hopeful Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has pledged to ensure equitable political representation across the country should he be voted into power as President.
Addressing party delegates in the Ashanti Region, Dr. Bawumia announced that under his leadership, every constituency in Ghana would receive at least 10 appointments in government.
“If I am voted in and I become president, every constituency will have a minimum of 10 appointments. So regions with more constituencies will have a lot of appointments,” he assured.
The former Vice President explained that the initiative is aimed at strengthening grassroots participation in governance and ensuring that every constituency directly benefits from political appointments. According to him, this approach will not only deepen inclusivity but also give party members across all regions a stronger sense of belonging in his government.
Dr. Bawumia further urged delegates to rally behind his vision, stressing that fair distribution of appointments would help bridge gaps between constituencies and regions, particularly in areas that often feel marginalised in governance.
