Gifty Osei to name next album after Hopeson Adorye

Gospel musician, Gifty Osei, is still basking in the glow of her new marriage to leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Hopeson Adorye. The singer has looked delirious with happiness and she is apparently planning to celebrate her husband by naming her upcoming album after him.

Gifty Osei and Mr Adorye tied the knot during the Christmas festivities and the ceremony was held privately at an unnamed location in Accra, just like much of the relationship was.

Unlike some of her female colleagues who keep their maiden name even after marriage in a bit to sustain their brand, Gifty has had no qualms letting her old name Osei, which she has used in the industry for about 12 years, go and take up her new name, Adorye.

On Saturday, January 5, Gifty Osei gave her first performance since she got married when she mounted the stage for TV3’s Music Music show and her manager, Stephen Kenneth Nakujah, disclosed to host, Benedicta Gafah that Gifty will be going through a rebranding process after which she will not need the Osei surname.

“Gifty will be going through rebranding, plans are being put in place currently to make that happen. Everything about her is going to change, her craft as an artiste and all.

“In fact, she will be dropping her next album soon and it is called Adorye. We all know the name of her new husband is Hopeson Adorye so just do your calculations and I am sure you will get the drift,” he said.

When asked how it has been working with the mother of two for 12 years, Stephen said, “it has been amazing, Gifty is one talented musician who knows and understands what she is doing. She really comprehends what the showbiz industry is about especially the controversies that come with it.

“You hardly get her breaking down because of controversies, no, it is like she knows when it is coming and exactly what is coming and she brushes it off and moves on with her life like nothing happened,” he stated.

Gifty Osei burst onto the gospel scene with her Aseda album in 2009 and has since then remained relevant. She is credited with songs such as Yento Nkyia, Ye Hia Wo, Kamafo, Ayeyi, Medaa Na Mada, Jesus Be Too Much and Exaltation.
