The former Inter Milan and AC Milan midfielder is reportedly on the verge of joining the one-time CAF Champions League winners.
Ghanaian giants Hearts of Oak are set to strengthened their squad with experienced midfielder Sulley Ali Muntari for the 2019/20 Ghana Premier League season. According to a report filed by Kumasi based radio station Fox FM, the Ghana legend is currently in talks with officials of the oldest club in the West African country to relaunch his football career after leaving the local scene in 2001. The 35-year-old trained with Hearts of Oak last year and has expressed interest in joining the club on permanent basis.
Muntari has been unattached after leaving Spanish La Liga 2 club Albacete Balompié in 2019. Hearts of Oak are hoping to end their eleven-year Premier League title drought this season. The Phobians currently lies ninth position with 21 points after fourteen matches in the 2019/20 Ghana Premier League season which has been suspended following the Coronavirus pandemic. Muntari is regarded by most Ghanaians as one of the best midfielders to feature for the senior national team of Ghana. He made 84 appearances for Ghana with 20 goals to his credit.
