LPG Will Appoint A Female Running Mate- Kofi Akpaloo

Founder and Leader of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), Percival Kofi Akpaloo has hinted that his outfit will appoint a female running mate in the upcoming 2020 general elections.

Kofi Akpaloo opined, this would bring dynamism and freshness to the party’s presidential ticket for the 2020 Election.

Sharing his perspective on the subject of who becomes the running mate for the NDC in an interview, Kofi Akpaloo said, ‘‘There are equally competent, experienced, formidable and energetic women in LPG who can also occupy the high position of a Vice-President if given the opportunity,’’ Percival Kofi Akpaloo exclusively told Kwaku Owusu Adjei on ‘Pae Mu Ka’ on Accra-based Kingdom FM 107.7

“We were supposed to unveil our female running date but due to certain circumstances it has delayed but very soon we will outdoor her soon, ‘’he added

According to him, this will ensure good governance by presenting to Ghanaians a capable woman as the party’s running mate for the 2020 polls.

The Vice-president of the Republic of Ghana is the second-highest executive official in Ghana when elected together with the president by the people through a popular vote to serve a four-year term of office.

The provisions of article 62 of the 1992 Constitution apply to a candidate for election as Vice-President:

(a) He/she is a citizen of Ghana by birth

(b) He/she has attained the age of thirty-five years
