One Dead Following Accident Involving Fuel Tanker at Nkawkaw

One person has been confirmed dead while two others are injured in a fuel tanker vehicle crash near Nkawkaw in the Eastern Region.

The transport officer of Pacific oil GH. Limited Haruna Musah told mybrytfmonline.com his driver Issah Salifu now deceased age 28 was driving a DAF CF Fuel tanker with registration number GT 7529-15 with two people on board from Kumasi towards Accra were involved in an accident at the outskirts of Damisekrom along the Nkawkaw dual carriageway.

The cause of the accident is not known.

He said the occupants on board the vehicle together with the driver sustained injuries and were rushed to the holy family hospital, Nkawkaw for medical treatment but Issah Salifu, the driver was pronounced dead on arrival.

He reported the accident to Police which they preceded to Holy Family Hospital, where victims- Shehu Musah, 25, and Abdullah Ibrahim, 28, were met at the emergency ward undergoing medical treatment.

Later in the day, Shehu Musah, was referred to St Joseph Hospital Koforidua for further medical treatment.

The body of the driver, Issah Salifu, has been deposited at the same Hospital Morgue for preservation and autopsy.

Accident vehicle towed and impounded at the central police station for DVLA examination and testing.
