Bawumia pays TT of Taxi Driver fame’s rent for five years

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has honoured his promise to pay the rent of Psalm Adjeteyfio of Taxi Driver fame.

The Veteran Ghanaian actor, Psalm Adjeteyfio, better known as T.T for his role in the hit TV series ‘Taxi Driver’ opened up about his health condition and difficulties he is currently facing in an interview with MzGee.

Detailing his condition, the veteran actor says his physician has informed him that his condition is incurable but can be managed even though elsewhere he would have required a heart transplant.

According to him, he has been confined to his home as he cannot properly move about like before, and resulted to taking his medication to stabilize his heart condition.

“…I’ve been told (by doctors) that these diseases I’m suffering are incurable but managed. One doctor told me if it were in the US, I would be on the waiting list for a heart transplant because a part of my heart has refused to function. The other way out is by taking drugs. For the past three years now, I have taken over 5000 assorted tablets and capsules,” he said in an interview with with TV3’s MzGee.

He further added: “…I was diagnosed with a heart failure and since then, I’ve been in my room most of the time. Sometimes two-three weeks, I don’t come out of my room. I’m always inside before the proper [imposed] lockdown came so I have been double-locked down.”

“Diabetes recently set in and I have to cope with two deadly diseases. My doctors tell me these are age-related issues,” he revealed in his recent interview.

He then subsequently spoke about the urgent need to clear his debt to his landlord so that he is not thrown-out.

It is this call the Vice President is responding to as he doles out over ¢50,000.00 for his five year rent and other expenses.

After the donation which was done by the spokesperson of the Vice President Dr. Gideon Boako his aide had this to say:

“Despite mourning his mum who died in the early hours of today. Dr. Bawumia this morning fulfilled a promise he made yesterday to TT of Taxi Driver fame that he will foot TT’s rent bills. Dr Bawumia has paid 6 months renewable for the next 5 years (30k) for TT and has also given TT 20k for upkeep. In all, he gave TT 50k this morning.”

This is coming at a time that the Vice President himself is mourning his mother.
