36-year-old painter nabbed with 228 slabs of Indian hemp

The Ghana Police Service (GPS) has arrested a suspected drug peddler at Gbetsile, a suburb of Accra, together with 228 slabs of dried leaves all believed to be Indian hemp.

The arrest was made on November 23, 2021 when some officers from the Service trailed the suspect, Haruna Iddrisu aged 36 years to his hideout.

The operation follows a tip off the Greater Accra Regional Police gathered that a “drug transporting syndicate who have been on the Police wanted list have managed to transport into Accra some substances suspected to be Indian Hemp.”

This is according to a statement issued by the GPS dated November 24, 2021.
