The Ghana Education Service (GES) has said it is not undertaking any review of the policy and that it does not have the mandate to do so.
The Ghana Education Service (GES) has refuted reports that the Free Senior High School policy (Free SHS) is currently being reviewed.
A cross section of the media had earlier quoted the director general of the Ghana Education Service Prof Kwasi Opoku Amankwah as having said the policy is under review.
But the GES said it is not undertaking any review of the policy and that it does not have the mandate to do so.
In a statement, the GES said, “For the avoidance of doubt the GES is not undertaking any review of the FSHS. Any such review of the FSHS policy is the sole prerogative of the president and the government.”
